As Instagram continued to worsen, due to its focus on competing with TikTok via Reels, I decided to try to find an alternative that better serves the watch community. The final straw for me was when IG deprecated hashtag search, so that I could no longer easily find everyday users’ photos of watches I was considering, or watch/strap inspiration.
As luck would have it, WatchCrunch is here. As a community specifically built for watch enthusiasts, its features are tailored to what serves us best. They also continually make updates in response to user feedback and requests. The only drawback is that its userbase is not yet as big as the watchfam was on IG, so there’s not quite as much content available as there was on watchfam IG back in its heyday, but it’s already better than the current situation on IG.
